Belek has experienced rapid growth and substantial investment over the last 20 years.
The Turkish Government identified the potential in Belek to rival the golfing and tourism potential of resorts like the Algarve in Portgual. In fact, annual numbers of golf tourists are pretty close to those who visit Portgual.
As well as the investment in championship golf courses, developers have also been attracted to Belek. Further inland but within close proximity to the golf courses you’ll find residential developments of apartments, townhouses and villas.
From an infrastructure perspective, Belek is well-placed to receive international golfers and holidaymakers. It is located just 30 minutes from Antalya international airport. Other resorts are close-by including the family coastal resort of Side, and Alanya is 45 minutes away.
Dozens of high-end, four-star and five-star hotel complexes span the coastline, supporting the golfing industry. There are 12 championship golf courses and a number of private clubs. Behind the golf courses, further inland, you will find an array of property for sale in Belek.
As just one example of the stunning golfing opportunities, the sprawling Maxx Royal Belek Golf Resort has a private beach. You can enjoy a couple of rounds of golf on a world-class course, then swim in the crystal waters of the Mediterranean. All that said, don’t make the mistake of thinking that Belek is just for golfers!
The beaches and seafront have seen massive investment. A full range of watersports and beach activities are available to holidaymakers and homeowners.
Whether you fancy sailing, windsurfing or water-skiing, or simply lounging on a sun-bed, the beaches at Belek offer everything.
Other sporting facilities in the area include gyms, spas, football pitches and floodlit tennis.
In some golf resorts, the apartments and villas integrate fully with the golf courses – so the bedrooms overlook the fairways. From an aesthetic golfing perspective it is much more pleasant not to have the fairways and greens lined with townhouses.
The majority of property for sale in Belek is situated in small developments between Belek and Kadriye, with good access to the main roads. Some are close enough to the golf courses to have views of the fairways, but aren’t on them.
If you’re looking for a second home or holiday home…
Belek provides a choice of apartments, townhouses and villas, often in gated residential complexes with neat landscaping and communal areas. Both resale and new-build properties are available. In the area between Belek and Kadriye, properties are just a 20-30 minute walk from the gorgeous Blue Flag beaches.
Obviously buying in Belek doesn’t just give you the advantages of a coastal town with wonderfully-hot summers and swimming in the Med. Moreover, it also grants access to the world-class golf courses. It is no surprise, then, that many investors buy here for the strong year-round rental potential.
As the resort has developed there are a number of property management and key-holding companies who can look after holiday homes for non-residents, including changeover days and being a point of contact for guests.
Overall, Belek has something for everyone, and it is not hard to understand its’ appeal. A sophisticated resort, with prestigious golfing and leisure facilities to die for. But, equally, but only a short drive out to the impressive Hellenistic and Roman ruins of historic Turkey and seaside bars and cafés.
